Ladies Golf In Spain
I have lived in Spain for 11 years and have seen numerous resident lady golfers playing early morning or late afternoon golf with their partner or spouse but on society days you would be very lucky to see 5% of the players to be lady golfers.
Now I know that society golf could be seen by some to be an essentially male domain but I have seen lady golfers readily accepted into the societies with whom I have been associated.
Early this week I had an interesting conversation with Pia Koivuranta from Finland who is a former European ladies tour professional and PGA level 5 qualified coach on this subject and she believes that there should be an opportunity for ladies to have a tournament or a society of their own and with this in mind she is arranging a ladies tournament at Vistabella on Saturday 21st March 2015.
The tournament will be 22 hole stableford event with a shotgun start at 9.30am and the day will include breakfast,snack on course,lunch and trophies and prizes for the winners including nearest the pins,straightest and longest drive and there will be a Wilson demo day on the driving range and all of this for only €55.
