Around and about the Golf Courses
Vistabella
Since the original opening the Vistabella golf course ,which was designed by Ryder Cup player Manuel Pinero, has been an 11 hole layout caused by planning application problems and the financial crisis in 2009.
We are delighted to announce that as from 2nd January 2018 the course will open the other 7 holes making it a full 18 hole layout and the management will price the green fees competitively and I am sure that the course will be one of the best and most popular in the area.
Alicante
Through 2016 and partly in 2017 the course staff have struggled with the condition of the greens on the excellent Alicante course.
As a result they are considering changing the grass on the greens in June and July 2018 which will result in the course only being a 9 hole course in these months,priced for the inconvienience and a final decision will be taken about these plans by 31st October 2017.
La Peraleja
The La Peraleja course was opened as an exclusive venue many years ago and as many local golfers are aware the course fell into a poor condition with severe problems with the fairways due to salt contamination in the soil which ultimately resulted in the course closure in 2016.
We can now report that the course,clubhouse and various plots of land have now been sold and we await further information regarding the future of the golf course and any re-opening plans but there will surely be a lengthy period of time to recover the course condition but will try to keep you informed of any progress.
