Around and about the Golf Courses – Villaitana (Benidorm)

The golf resort at Villaitana (Benidorm) is of Jack Nicklaus design and when originally opened to the public some 9 years ago was originally called Real de Faula and consists of the Levante par 72 championship course and the Poniente par 62 course.

The Levante course is an attractive course with stunning views over both the mountains and Benidorm to the Mediterranean sea and is a good test of golf.

The Poniente on first examination appears unattractive to the competitive and serious golfer because it consists of short par 3 and par 4 holes but again the views are stunning and the course is a little gem and well worth a game.

The management of the course is currently under the control of Blue Green Management until 30th April 2015 after which the day to day management will revert to Meliá Hotels International re-integrating all facilities under one single management company.

Clearly all existing agreements and price strategies will be reviewed by the new management team and perhaps it may be prudent to take the short trip to Benidorm for a game to plays these courses before the changes take place.
