\u2018PLK\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Remember what your Dad said to you when he gave you your first putting lesson.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

First you must get your balance, because golf is a game of balance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then try and keep your head still, lead with the left hand and PLK.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What is PLK I hear you say?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

PLK stands for \u2018putt like a kid\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What does this mean?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kids are fearless putter, just watch them, they are as un-mechanical as you can get.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They set up, aim and pull the trigger without a lot of second-guessing and no body tension.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Their sole objective appears to be to move the hole back a foot or two.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If it is this easy WHY do things go wrong and the shortest of putts seem almost impossible to hole?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why do great golfers and champions stop winning when they reach their 40\u2019s despite still hitting the ball well?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The answer is almost certainly the pressure and scars of having faced and missed so many important putts in previous years coupled with the inability to remove the outcome of the putt from the mind.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am sure that all golfers at some time have stood over a putt and had the thought, if hole this I will\u2026\u2026…. or if I miss this putt I will\u2026..\u2026\u2026.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Remember what I stated in a previous article and play NATO golf and try to be not attached to the outcome.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Will this be easy?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The answer is no but if you try to eliminate the negative thoughts and putt like a kid at least you may find that you are less stressed on the course and start to enjoy your golf more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
