‘New Sierra Golf Course’
A few week ago I had to report on the sad demise and closure of La Peraleja so it is good to be able to give you some good news about the re-opening of a golf course called New Sierra Golf.
About 10 years ago Sierra Golf opened as a 9 hole golf course on a pay and play basis and to start with even had an honesty box.
The course is located just off the C-3319 Murcia Balsicas highway on the La Tercia road.
Unfortunately at the time it was in the middle of what can only be described as a building site and was not so appealing to golfers and closed some four years ago.
Now under new ownership and with the surrounding area now substantially complete and with a better infrastructure the course has been re-born as New Sierra Golf.
The course is still a 9 hole layout of 5406 metres or 5946 yards from the yellow tees making up a par 36 course of par 3,par 4 and par 5 holes.
They have done considerable work to the bunkers and now have a fleet of 45 buggies.
Now that we have entered the high season period with prices at their highest this may be an ideal time to try the course at an affordable price.
