The región of Murcia is one of the most dry and arrid areas in Spain the months without rain have been very difficult for a number of their courses including Corvera,La Peraleja and neighbouring Hacienda Riquelme.
A few months ago the management team of Nike-IRM who operate the 6 x former Polarisworld courses informed all the booking agents that Hacienda Riquelme was in poor condition and that extensive work was needed on the greens to remidy the situation.
I have been in further communication with the NIKE-IRM team who inform me that (quote):
“At the moment there are still three greens that still have some patchy areas but otherwise the golf course is in really good shape. The greens crew are working very hard and are gradually lowering the height of the mowers so the greens will soon be perfect. The lakes are full of water, the tee boxes are perfect and overall the golf course is very tidy”.
The management team have extended their summer deals up to the end of July 2014 and so if you had temporarily taken Hacienda Riquelme off your ‘play’ list then now is the time to consider playing it again while the prices are at their lowest.
