Changes to Murcian Golf Courses

Some ten years ago Murcia had 35 golf courses either existing or with planning permission but the finacial crisis of 2009 put paid to many of the planned golf courses and some courses such as La Peralaja,Corvera and La Tercia closed. Polarisworld launched the famous Nicklaus Trail of golf courses such as Alhama,El Valle,Hacienda Riquleme,La Torre,Mar Menor and Saurines all located on large resorts and urbanisations. While the construction side of things failed misearably the golf courses still remain but over the subsequent years have been managed by a number of different management companies such as Ola Golf,Nike Golf and GNK Golf. GNK Golf still manage the courses at Alhama,El Valle,Hacienda Riquelme and La Torre BUT as from 1st January 2019 the courses at Mar Menor and Saurines are now managed by a different management company called Ugolf. In addition to these two golf courses it has also been announced that shortly Ugolf will also take over the management of Hacienda Del Alamo. Full details of prices for Hacienda Del Alamo are still to be announced but they are still making and honouring bookings at existing prices until new prices are announced. All of the above course are well worth a game if you are visiting Murcia and I am sure that both management teams will try to ensure that the courses are all presented in excellent condition.
